BBEMA is inviting all Island family to visit the Eptek Art & Culture Centre in Summerside this coming Sunday April 14th. The Eptek Art & Culture Centre is hosting a new traveling exhibit from the Canadian Museum of Nature in Ottawa
“Canada’s Waterscapes: Yours to Enjoy, Explore and Protect” is an interactive display consisting of several panels, games and movies, all revolving around the animals and plant life in Canada’s waterways
Over the past 10 years, BBEMA has developed programs that help citizens of all ages learn about aquatic ecosystems and raise awareness of the changes they are undergoing. The BBEMA team takes great pleasure in sharing its knowledge and guiding ecology minded community members in projects that let them keep an eye on our most precious resource: water.
To complement the Canada Waterscapes Exhibit s exhibit, Tracy Brown, BBEMA’s Executive Director will be providing an interactive talk aptly titled – Understanding the “NATURE” of Streams – This hands on learning session will provide the opportunity for young and old alike to become water biologists and take part in monitoring, observing and conserving of Island aquatic ecosystems. Using simple scientific equipment and a healthy dose of fun! You’ll learn how to determine a streams overall health by observing its characteristics.
